The traditional didgeridoo is made of eucalyptus wood and originates in Australia.

The aborigines of this continent have played this instrument for more than 40,000 years. The mystical sounds had numerous tasks. They served among other things for the aborigines for communication, rituals, or they supported healing processes of various illnesses.

The Asate didgeridoo

The medical – therapeutical aspect as well as the basic playability were reasons for making a didgeridoo out of Plexiglas. After well founded tests, this Plexiglas instrument, which was developed by Asate AG, is now produced in Switzerland. It fulfils all medical – therapeutic requirements, is easy to play and to clean. With its smooth walls and the specially developed mouthpiece, it produces a clear, constant basic tone, which is an important requirement for the Asate therapy. The Plexiglas instrument is produced in two variations.

The standard instrument is intended for persons who mainly play at home.

The travel instrument is produced in three parts (50 cm long), is intended for persons who are on the road a lot (business). It has exactly the same therapeutic effects as the standard instrument, is however a bit more expensive due to production costs.
